PETRIFIED WOOD
I am strength, I am heritage, I am memory
Like the strong tree I once was, I am a symbol of life, made permanent by Mother Earth.
I am an echo,
A remembrance.
Can you imagine what I once was?
A towering tree, sure and strong,
Welcoming birds onto my boughs,
Shading the ground below me.
I was powerful, resplendent;
I still am.
I am a life, hardened into permanence,
More beautiful through my transformation.
A perfect imprint of myself,
Forever displaying what once was.
Like a tree, I am connected,
Rooted to my own past.
I am strength, I am heritage, I am memory.
I am Petrified Wood.
